Karin Schwarz [06/14/1974],
artist and designer from Curitiba, Parana, Brazil,
she was graduated in the UFPR (Federal University of Parana Brazil) in 1997 and
acts in several artistic areas.
Self-studied in the plastic arts, already in the childhood she started her art
production and in her adolescence, in 1990, she began to participate of
collective exhibitions. In 2005 she launch a circuit of individual exhibitions
of her Digigravures that was showed on several cultural spaces of Curitiba,
Parana, Brazil.
In 2006 Schwarz launch the exhibition known as "Amazing Girls" that have a world-wide repercussion after had a frustrated attempt of
censorship by a famous internacional manufacturer of toys.
She published in 2005 and 2006, the books "Spectres"
and "Chance's Pictures: God's Pictures",
respectively. Since 2000 she maintains a virtual exhibition in the site
www.karuska.com. At present she have works
in Brazil, USA, Finland, Spain, England and Iceland.
She is the author of the play "The Girl who would like to be a Drag Queen", a great success that was presented from 1999 to 2000 on Curitiba,
Parana, Brazil. In that play Schwarz also has acted as actress, costume designer
and art director. Since 1995 she participates in the group
"The Virgens
Again", acting in plays, shows, videos and movies. In that group
productions, Karin participates as actress, art director, costume designer,
soundtracker, graphic designer, scriptwriter, producer and choreographer. |
